Shiva (Dakshinamoorthy) and Shakthi - The Dual Energy

Graphic vector sketch of Young Dakshinamoorthy/Shiva, a Hindu Indian God and his consort Parvati. Since recent, I have always wanted to do something that would bring about a great meaning. To be very honest, my first artwork of Dakshinamoorthy (last image) gave me the answer. And so, I began sketching the first vector artwork of Shiva, taking references from the facial features of my first version of Dakshinamoorthy (pencil sketch coloured in Adobe Photoshop) using Adobe Illustrator Draw. After a few hours in total of work, I was done with the artwork or Shiva. But that was not all. How beautiful this process was that, the newest artwork of Shiva gave me the idea to further it into a vector artwork of Shakthi. And this evolution gave meaning to the 'Duality' or 'Dual Energy' concept which we know well by the name, 'Ardhanareeshwara'.

For the saying goes like this "There is no Shakthi without Shiva, neither is Shiva without Shakthi" What is man, sans woman? Or what is a woman, sans man? Yin to a Yang, both are energies that must be respected equally amidst the social fabric.
